The days are getting longer and it is beginning to feel that Spring is on its way. As you come off the
Copthorne Hotel roundabout take a glance at the garden which the WI created. It is maturing nicely,
with just ongoing maintenance required, and it is becoming harder to remember the mess of shrubs
and brambles that was there.
We were pleased to welcome two visitors to our March meeting and were inspired by a talk by Pam
Storey, one of our members, who told us about her marathon running and charity fundraising. For the
less active amongst us our President spoke about the walking group’s most recent outing along the
Forest Way and next month’s walk which will be along the footpaths between Smallfield and Horley.
And for the crafty individuals amongst us we saw the most recent craft group make – a felt cactus
complete in its pot. At least it doesn’t need watering.
Looking ahead we have a good monthly meeting programme and lots of activities planned, including
our stall at Copthorne Carnival. Visitors are welcome to come to our monthly meetings (contact details
in this magazine) and all our outings are open to friends and family.
