What’s been happening at Francis Court?
Hello everyone Carolyn Tyrer here from Francis Court Care home with a quick update on what’s happening in our home.
• Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who attended our Care Home Open Day on Friday 16th June 2017, it was a real success, at one stage we had 97 people in our inner gardens! We had an amazing day, we ran out of Pimms and food, thankfully there were some rescuers who were happy to run to the shops for us and replenish our stocks. We also raised £83.00 on name that teddy and count the jelly beans; the money raised will go to St Catherine’s Hospice.
• We held an Understanding Dementia session at our home on 6th June 2017 which was a great success. A lot of people attended including local people from Copthorne Village and the feedback was it was really enjoyable and informative.
• On Thursday 24th August 2017 we will be opening our gardens and having a Family Fun day, with a bouncy castle, stalls, singers, games, candy floss, food and drink and much more. The fun will start at 1.30pm and finish at 4pm in the grounds of Francis Court – come along and bring your families and friends and meet our staff, residents and visit our lovely home. If you would like to join in the fun and have a stall please do let me know by email at the address below.
• Friday September 29th we are celebrating the Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee morning at Francis Court at 11am where anyone is invited to come along and have coffee and cake for a small charge. All proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Support so come along and meet the residents and staff and enjoy our chef’s home-made cakes!
