The children are enjoying the beautiful weather and they are having lots of fun playing in our pre-school garden; having free-flow play areas indoors and out means they can easily move between activities as they wish to. Many of our children are starting school in September so we’re busy preparing our school leavers for their next exciting adventure!
You may have seen our fabulous Toy Story themed float at the Carnival. The children who joined us thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we’d like to thank everyone involved in creating such a fantastic float; it really was a community effort.
Eligible parents/carers can now apply for the new 30hrs free childcare. Our lunch clubs will now be included in the free 15hr or 30hr free childcare (lunch clubs are open to all children).
We are open term time and currently offer Monday – Friday 09:00-12:00 with the option to stay until 3:00pm on a Wednesday. Jack and Jill – the nurturing preschool where children can freeflow between a large, private garden and indoor play area.
With some lovely weather upon us the children have been making more use of the outside environment. They have been learning about different types of insects, observing the life cycle of a butterfly, and going on a ‘bug hunt’ around the village. The children have also been using their literacy and imagination skills to tell stories while staff scribed for them. We recently celebrated Eid with a party, with some lovely treats from some of our families
Well it’s nearly the end of another year with our leavers preparing for the transition to their new schools, we shall miss them and wish them all the best!

This summer term we have been enjoying all our new afternoon sessions where many of our school leavers have had the chance to experience a longer day in prepartion for going to big school and also have their packed lunch. Throughout this lovely weather, the children have enjoyed playing in the shelter of the trees in our new garden area where they have watched our tomato plants grow. We also watched our caterpillars grow and turn into Chrysalis’ and eventually into beautiful butterflies.
We all had a brilliant time on our float at the Copthorne Carnival! The children loved making decorations during the sessions to stick on the float and dressing up as their favourite characters for our Disney themed float! We even had two real life sleeping beauties by the end of the drive round the village! Many thanks to all our staff and parents who helped to decorate, drive and marshal the float! Well done, we came 2nd!
We are open term time and our sessions are open to children from 2 years old. From September we are open Monday to Friday 9.15 to 12.15, with lunch clubs on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12.15 to 1.15.

Coach House Nursery
It’s hard to believe that another year has come to an end at the Coach House Nursery. We have had a wonderful sun-filled end to the term and have been making the most of our wonderful fields and playgrounds with lots of outdoor activities, including bug hunting, den building and eating popcorn cooked at Forest School. Lots of water play has also been on the agenda, especially fishing in the new Pippins water tray.
Typically the British weather hit just as we were getting ready for our Sports Day with the arrival of a thunderstorm and the heavens opening. Luckily the children found this very exciting and it was over fairly quickly! We managed to go ahead with our fabulous pirate themed Sports Day, with all the EYFS children taking part in obstacle courses, kicking and throwing activities, bailing water from a pool alongside running races, relay races AND enjoying cheering on their mummies and daddies in the parent races!
Oaks class had a tuneful end to the term. They hosted a beautiful concert for parents alongside the Pre-Prep, combining singing, dancing and instrument playing with wonderful results!
We hope that everyone has a wonderful summer and we are looking forward to starting the new academic year with the same passion as we ended this one!
