We ended our summer term with a delightful trip to Ladyland Farm in Horley. We had a wonderful time feeding and holding the animals; it truly was the perfect end to a busy and fun term! We are now preparing for the new autumn term and thinking all “All about me!” with plenty of activities, games and equipment planned to help the children learn about their own lives, where they live and how to keep their bodies fit and healthy. We’ll be taking some walks around the community to aid the children’s understanding of how everyone works together to create a place called ‘home’.
Eligible parents/carers can now apply for the new 30hrs free childcare. Our lunch clubs will now be included in the free 15hr or 30hr free childcare (lunch clubs are open to all children).
We are open term time and currently offer Monday – Friday 09:00-12:00 with the option to stay until 3:00pm on a Wednesday. We run themed lunch clubs (12:00-1:00pm) on Mondays (Our World) and Thursdays (Music and Movement). Our sessions are open to children from 2 ½ years old. Do give us a call or email to arrange a visit as we’d love to show you around.
Jack and Jill – the nurturing preschool where children can freeflow between a large, private garden and indoor play area.
After a lovely summer break, we’ve started the new academic year welcoming back our current children to Peter Pan, and meeting new children and their families. We’ve been busy helping them to settle in, learn a new routine, make friends and to feel happy, safe and secure so that they can learn and develop through play. All the children have been enjoying fun-filled activities based around their interests and ideas. We have lots planned for this term which includes exploring and investigating all to do with Autumn.
Last year through generous donations from parents, we purchased some new resources including our lovely new mud kitchen for the garden which the children are having great fun in making ‘cakes, pies and biscuits’! On 29th September we will be supporting Macmillan Cancer charity with a coffee morning for families and friends of Peter Pan.
We have limited spaces available so if you would like to visit with your child, please e-mail or telephone to arrange a convenient time.
Open term time for children aged 2 to school age, Mon-Fri, 9.15am-3.15pm, 30 hours free entitlement available for eligible working parents of 3-4 year olds, or 15 hours free entitlement available for children aged 3 years+ and eligible 2 year olds. Optional lunch clubs are available each day until 1.15pm. Further details are available on our website.
We’re excited to be back at Sunshine for the new school year! We enjoyed a lovely summer trip to Tilgate, where we got to meet lots of animals, and we have started this term enjoying our fabulous outdoor garden with its climbing area and mud kitchen.
As well as welcoming our current children back, we are very excited to welcome all our new children and our new members of staff to Sunshine! Our new manager Katy has a huge amount experience caring for pre-school age children and is also currently studying for a BA in Childhood and Youth Studies. Kim, Anne Marie and Beth have also joined our team and they too have a wealth of qualifications and experience between them, including qualified teacher status. We are confident that all our children will thrive with our new team to support them.
Come and join us on 9th November for an Open Morning to meet our new team! Have some tea and cake and bring your little ones to play at our lovely pre-school.
We’ll also be having a Car Wash on 7th October (10am-12), venue to be confirmed, and a Christmas Fair on 14th December at 10.30am. Look out for more info on our Facebook Page!

Coach House Nursery
What a lovely start to the new academic year at Copthorne Prep. We have had great fun sharing holiday stories and hearing about all the fun adventures that have taken place over the summer.
Pippins class are looking forward to learning different colours and shapes through a variety of exciting activities this term, Acorns class will be looking at different nursery rhymes and have already collaged some feathery ducks and have had great fun playing in their own duck pond.
Oaks class are busy finding out about people who help us and are looking forward to welcoming in the fire fighters! All the children have enjoyed their first Forest School lesson, swimming starts this week, as does Football and Ballet … its ‘all go’ once more!
It has been especially lovely to see our ‘old’ Nursery children move up into Reception; they look very grown up in their uniforms and have settled beautifully. It really helps with the transition into Reception when they have attended our Nursery, as they know the teachers, the classrooms, the playground and they are even used to the yummy school lunches! They were able to spend fun afternoons in the Reception classes in the summer term, so are confident and happy to go running into ‘Big School’ every morning. Opens 48 weeks per year for children aged 2+. Bumps, Babes and Toddlers every Friday in term time, 10-11.30am in the Nursery
