A New Year and a welcome to some new members. It’s lovely to see you and we hope that you will enjoy all the things we have planned for the coming year. One of our members has offered to co-ordinate an entry for a photographic competition to record a year in the life of the WI.
January has seen us entertained and educated by David Allen and his unique take on “The weird and wonderful world of the Law” and in February our meeting happens to be on 14th February so we
will celebrate with an alternative Valentine’s Evening.
Our craft group is busy stitching an applique picture to celebrate the centenary of the Surrey Federation of WIs. It will feature an oak tree
to represent the wooded nature of the county (it is the most wooded
of the English Counties), with many individual oak leaves stitched by our members. There has been a request from members to learn how to crochet, so that will be a project for the coming months.
Exploring the local countryside, keeping t and socialising are the aims of the walking group who
will be walking the Worth Way
from Rowfant Business Centre in January and exploring the Hyde Estate at Handcross in February. Husbands and friends are always welcome to join us on our walks and other outings.
