A lovely nativity play was enjoyed by all before we set off to spend time with our families over Christmas and the children have settled in really well after returning from the festive break.
This half term we are looking forward
to taking care of our garden birds by making bird feeders, as well as rescuing arctic animals from the ice and exploring what happens to melting ice! We’ll be keeping the winter theme and immersing ourselves in multimedia for our wintery creations, plus we’ll be helping to make the children more independent with putting coats, hats and gloves on by themselves.
We are pleased to announce that we’ll now be offering an 08.30am start every day from the summer term (after Easter). Places are limited for this earlier start time so please do get in touch to check availability.
We are open term time and currently offer Monday – Friday 09:00-12:00 with the option to stay until 3:00pm on a Wednesday. We run themed lunch clubs (12:00-1:00pm) on Mondays (Our World) and Thursdays (Music and Movement). Our sessions are open to children from 2 1⁄2 years old. Do give us a call or email to arrange a visit as we’d love to show you around.
Jack and Jill – the nurturing preschool where children can free ow between a large, private garden and indoor play area.
A Happy New Year from Peter Pan Playgroup! The lead up to Christmas was very exciting with the children busy making tree decorations, Christmas cards, and peppermint creams whilst enjoying their own Santa’s Grotto!
We were delighted to participate in making decorations for one of the
trees in the churchyard – we chose the Nativity scene and the children had great fun choosing, cutting, gluing and sticking a variety of resources onto the templates. We thought all the trees
in the churchyard looked fantastic.
Our Nativity play saw wonderful performances from the children, watched by their families – well done everyone! And we ended the term with a party, being entertained by a magician and a special visitor in his sleigh!
This term we have welcomed more new children, who are settling in very well. Following on from some of the children’s imagination with our activity cube, we will explore the world of pirates, the ocean, and learning new songs.
Open term time for children aged 2 to school age, Mon-Fri, 9.15am-3.15pm, 30 hours free entitlement available for eligible working parents of 3-4 year olds or 15 hours free entitlement available for children aged 3 years+ and eligible

The children have returned for another fun lled term after their Christmas break. Prior to Christmas, the children all took part in a lovely Nativity performance in the church, they all did so well!
This term we have started off by becoming builders! The children have spent time watching the builders start work over at the church, so we’ve been using lots of different tools and bricks to role play being builders. Later this term, when the weather gets a little warmer, we’ll be starting work on our outside area. We are hoping to plant some yummy fruit and vegetables that we can try when ready, and also some bulbs to brighten this area up.
This term we have started afternoon sessions on a Monday and Tuesday until 2:30. Please contact us if you are interested, we still have spaces!
Come along to our Open Day on the 20th February, 9:30-12.00. You’ll be able to have a chat about our lovely pre-school, meet our staff and see all the ways we help our children become con dent and independent, whilst your child plays.
We also have a couple of fundraising events coming up. There will be a Car Wash on Sat 24th March 10:30-12:30 at the Parish Hub. And on Sat 21st April, in the evening, we have a Bingo Night planned at the Social Club. Look out for posters advertising these events!
Coach House Nursery
Having had a wonderful end to the Christmas term with parties, Nativity Plays, visits from a special friend with a big white beard and loads of holiday fun, we have come back to school still buzzing!
The new term brings so many exciting things for us to look forward to. Our youngest children in Pippins have started their topic on Animals whilst our Acorns children are developing their love of books through ‘Our Favourite Stories’.
Our oldest children in Oaks class will be talking about superheroes this term; not just the kind we see in cartoons and in magazines but also some local heroes in the school and our community.
As you may have seen in the news, there have been positive stories about the advantages of mixing very young children with the elderly and how both groups can greatly bene t from each other’s company. With this in mind we have started a scheme whereby we take small groups of children to Francis Court once a week. The children really enjoy themselves and we are so happy to be providing entertainment to lots of lovely people in Copthorne. The photo shows our visit before Christmas when we made crowns on the occasion of the Queen & Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary!
Open 48 weeks per year for children aged 2+. Bumps, Babes and Toddlers every Friday in term-time 10.00-11.30 am in The Coach House Nursery.
