Smugglers beavers have had a nature evening, planting sunflowers and bucket gardens and doing leaf printing, as well as an activity evening, cooking marshmallows over the fire, making dens and climbing.
Voyagers beavers have been pond dipping at Buchan park and been on a visit Crawley Fire Station.
Ash Pack cubs have been cooking on fires and learning about personal safety.
Oak Pack cubs have been doing their first aid badge and aviation badge.
Scott Troop are working on their master of arms badge and their local knowledge badge.
Mallory Troop have been making cookies and have been to laser quest.
On 30th March 13 scouts and leaders went to Yapton for the weekend. They spent a day in Littlehampton, crabbing and looking round the Lifeboat station and the Look and Sea centre. They also spent a day hiking, finishing with a visit to the cinema and on the way home they went to clip and climb at Angmering.
On 18th April Ivo and Charlie were awarded their chief gold awards. This is the highest badge in scouts, and to receive this they have to have completed at least 6 activity badges and all 9 challenge badges. These involve camping, hiking, trying new activities, helping others and many more scouting skills.
On 29th April all sections took part in the annual district St George’s day parade, where we paraded down East Grinstead High street to Sackville School and took part in a celebration of scouting where everyone renewed their promise.
Jenny Cheesmur (Akela at Ash pack) received her Silver Acorn for outstanding services to Copthorne Scouts and especially Ash pack.
