The only word to describe the sight that awaited us on our outing to Pashley Manor’s annual tulip festival at the beginning of May. And we were so lucky to be there on a lovely sunny day (sandwiched between two grim wet days).
Our May meeting had it’s serious side as it is always the month in which we get to debate our support or otherwise on matters to be discussed at the WI’s National AGM in Cardiff in June. This was followed by a craft activity creating string covered and decorated jars. We’ve seen some of these recently at Craft Fairs. We have also noted in an old WI programme that the Copthorne ladies in the post war years enjoyed a very similar sounding activity.
We have a number of plans for the forthcoming months including an outing to Hastings, a lunch in the garden of one of our members and of course our presence at Copthorne Carnival when we have lots of cakes and other goodies for sale.
