Among the many photos and documents received from Pam Norman is a fascinating postcard dated 1907, inscribed in beautiful handwriting “Wishing you a very happy Christmas, from George to Aunt Tilly”. The post on our Facebook page about the threat to end Bingo being played in Copthorne broadcast on Woman’s Hour reached 636 people, resulting in a copy of the actual report from the Daily Mirror on 9th January 1953 being posted by Caroline Drummond. Ann Denman’s niece Patricia Asquith also contacted us, saying she remembered the event and that Ann’s mum in Yorkshire was delighted to hear her daughter on the radio! A lovely end to an interesting story.
